We supply bespoke quality timbers for construction projects.
The main construction timbers we can cut to order for you are Oak, Douglas Fir, Larch (not true Siberian Larch but similar) and Sweet Chestnut.
We sell construction grade Oak sawn to size, for traditional post and beam timber framing direct to our Traditional Green Oak timber framing customers. As well as 'one off' Oak posts and beams as required by self builders and repair jobs.
As well as Oak posts and beams we can mill direct to order fine quality construction grade Douglas Fir, Larch and Chestnut. These are strong naturally durable timbers sustainably sourced from the regions woodlands. Perfect for new build, barns, homes, Garden rooms, porchs and all your construction needs. We can mill quality construction grade timber to sizes required by yourself, or your structural Engineers.
Types of Construction Timber
Douglas Fir - Nearly all heartwood beams
Sweet Chestnut - Nearly all heartwood posts & beams
Chestnut - Garden Sleepers, with knots & occasional slight brown stain
Green Ash - Straight off the mill
Green Steam bending material - very straight grained, straight off the mill
Green Oak - Joinery grade
Local English Oak - Nearly all heartwood posts & beams

Seasoned Oak - Prime Joinery grade, large dimension, dry, very clean. Quarter sawn waney edge or sawn edge.

STUDIO MUSS
Coastal Redwood glazing, fascia’s and barge boards, fresh on. Sold Green, fresh sawn. Air dried for a short while on site and put up. Quick and nice to work. About 1/15th the price of Hewins prime Planed all round (PAR) Oak. We have large quantities and love it. It is brittle and not very structural, but so stable; uniform and durable.
